Bytes Document Solutions moves to Midrand to boost service in Gauteng

Johannesburg, 29 Mar 2005

In a move to improve, enhance and expand its services in the Gauteng region, the Johannesburg and Pretoria sales and service departments of Xerox distributor Bytes Document Solutions are relocating to Midrand.

These two departments will join other Bytes Document Solutions divisions, including documents@X, human resources, office supplies, stores, systems support, technical and XBS. The Bytes Technology Group will also have a presence in the building that will be branded "Xerox".

"Centralising the operations in Midrand is in line with our goal of achieving superior customer service and support," says Ashley Groenendaal, sales and marketing support manager at Bytes Document Solutions. "We will have a stronger presence in the Pretoria and Johannesburg areas and we will be able to increase the competitiveness of our pricing as cost-efficiencies gained by operating from a central location will filter down to benefit our customers."

The move will bring additional benefits to customers from the company`s proximity to its holding company, which enables access to additional support and services around the Bytes Document Solutions` offerings. The company`s closeness to the Bytes Technology Group will enable the Xerox distributor to more easily up-sell and cross-sell, and address other aspects of its customers` businesses that would previously have been impractical to tackle, and to cater to a wider range of clients.

"Customers and staff alike will also benefit from the on-site training centre at the Xerox building in Midrand, and the improved communications channels that will be enabled through the move," Groenendaal says.

In total, 154 Bytes Document Solutions employees will be relocated to Midrand, and Gauteng regional sales manager Keith Knott will manage the consolidated sales and service departments.

This move comes in the wake of the company`s recent BEE A-rating achievement, issued by independent economic empowerment assessment and research agency EmpowerDEX.
