Brother wins 'iF Design Award in six categories in 2014

Brother Industries, a parent company of Brother International South Africa, one of the leading global manufacturers of laser and inkjet printing devices, has won the prestigious international iF Design Award in six of its product categories.

Four of these product lines are currently available in South Africa.

Brother International received its first iF Design Award in 1982 for the alphanumeric typewriter, and since then, the company has been awarded a further 45 awards. In 2014, Brother International was awarded iF Design Awards for the mid-range colour laser printers and multifunction centres launched recently in South Africa; the MFC-J3720 (A3) colour inkjet multi-function centre; and the P-Touch E100 industrial labelling machine.

Dale de Villiers, marketing manager at Brother South Africa, said: "We believe it is very important to refine the design of our user interfaces as well as improve the product's exterior appearance in order to give customers excellent value for money. We participate actively in international design award competitions such as the iF design awards. Through these events we continue to improve our design and usability for our customers."

iF design awards

The iF Product Design Award was introduced in 1954 and is annually conferred by the iF International Forum Design. Every year the iF attracts more than 1 000 product entries from around all over the nations, which are judged by renowned experts, with the best of them receiving an iF seal of outstanding design quality. The "iF design award 2014" received over 4 500 submissions from 55 countries worldwide.
