A series of films made by well-known Hollywood names is being sponsored by BMW for showing over the Internet.
Directors, including John Frankenheimer (of "Grand Prix" and "The Manchurian Candidate" fame), Ang Lee (Oscar and Golden Globe winner with "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"), and Guy Ritchie ("Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"), are taking part in the series, which will be available on the Internet at www.bmwfilms.com.
Among the stars featured are Madonna, English actor Clive Owen and Mickey Rourke.
Each of the five original Internet films feature sub-plots that allow the viewer to access secret passages through the story lines of each film. Directed by Ben Younger ("Boiler Room"), these mystery rides - some hidden, some in plain sight - make the viewing experience a unique one for the Internet movie fan.
"We aligned ourselves with this watershed venture because it is a synergistic effort that both crosses and pushes boundaries,`` comments Tom Purves, president of BMW North America.
"These entertainment-driven films, directed by the top talent in the field, are the perfect showcase to underscore the excitement and uniqueness of the BMW experience."
There are details of premiere dates for the films in the series at www.bmwfilms.com.
