[PICTUE-RIGHT]Local Internet service provider (ISP) BitCo has introduced a channel programme to enable any level of its ICT partners to maximise their business by leveraging off BitCo's carrier grade fibre and wireless network.

According to the company, the Maximise programme aims to cultivate an environment for collaboration and also to support channel partners in growing their business together.

"We provide you with tools and benefits to enhance service, streamline operations and boost your revenue."

IT and telephony resellers, private branch exchange vendors, network suppliers and Internet service providers are among the many companies that stand to benefit from being able to offer their clients a carrier grade last mile connection, it says.

There are three ways to participate in BitCo's Maximise channel partner programme - companies can sign up as a wholesaler, reseller or an agent, adds BitCo.

The company says as part of the programme it will offer sales and marketing assistance to help its partners transform their opportunities into revenue generating streams. Also, it will assist its channel with sales activities and provide direction in prospecting and cultivating new opportunities, it adds.

Chrystal Singh, channel manager at BitCo, says the partner programme has been introduced to provide businesses within the ICT sector a chance to compete and grow by removing the barrier to entry, which is typically building a proprietary network. "The cost of which is exorbitant and forces higher rates for Internet and telephony services as providers try to recover their capital investments."

Through the channel programme, BitCo believes it is making connectivity and voice solutions widely available to channel partners nationally, despite the size of an organisation, says Singh.

As an independent operator, BitCo has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing new entrants into the industry, from radio interference to large capital investments, she notes.

"The Maximise programme provides channel partners with all the benefits of a carrier grade network, interconnect agreements, colocation, peering, access to a licensed spectrum and a national fibre network.

"Our focus is to provide a leading-edge programme to partners in the ICT sector - the channel organisations and partners that thrive are those that embrace and stay ahead of disruptions."

Meanwhile, in November last year, BitCo completed upgrading its 40Gbps national fibre network, aiming to provide "unsurpassed Internet and telephony experience for all of its business subscribers".
