JSE-listed Business Connexion (BCX) has entered into another joint venture, linking up with UK-based NorthgateArinso to create an outsourced human resources entity that will target the African market.

BCX will sell Q Data DynamiQue (QDD), which provides human resources (HR) and payroll solutions, in exchange for 50% of a new entity, to be called NorthgateArinso Africa. No money will change hands.

BCX deputy CEO Vanessa Olver says the company is offering NorthgateArinso a footprint in SA and Africa, while QDD's current range of offerings will be expanded, and it will gain access to intellectual property for products it does not yet offer.

Olver adds the two entities are complementary and will create a bigger product suite. NorthgateArinso employs more than 8 500 staff and offers HR consulting, HR outsourcing and HR technology.

It has offices in 35 countries on five continents, supporting more than 10 000 multinational, large, medium and small customers in more than 100 countries, according to its Web site.

BCX says the deal is in line with its aim to become a leader in specific vertical markets, and will allow it to move up the business process outsourcing value chain.

The deal is subject to conditions.

Last month, BCX and ATIO inked a joint venture deal, valued at R70 million, in which ATIO's Netcampus will buy BCX's Learning Solutions business unit for 50% and a share in Netcampus.
