Baseline NGN implements next-generation converged business solution at EBS Africa

In the ever-competitive and cutthroat world of employee benefits software supply, EBS Africa has gained a considerable edge over its competition, with its implementation of a unified business solution from Baseline NGN.

In terms of a common vision for the provision of OmniPlus to the South African investment product market, including the retail and retirement funds market, SunGard granted EBS Africa (Pty) Ltd an exclusive distribution agreement to represent SunGard`s employee benefit services products and services to the Southern African market.

SunGard is one of the world largest employee benefits software supply companies, and supports six of the top 10 unit trust firms (mutual funds), 13 of the top 15 US banks and three of the top five US insurance companies, which equates to approximately $13 trillion supported on SunGard EBS products.

"We found a business opportunity, and discovered that there were significant areas that we could improve upon and commissioned Baseline NGN to assist us in delivering a cohesive and significantly improved customer experience, prior to the relocation of our Cape office to our new premises in Black River Park North, Cape Town," says Gerhard du Plessis, EBS Technical Director.

"What Baseline NGN did," said Baseline`s MD Kevin Treweek, "was to provide EBS Africa with the platform to expedite both customer and internal processes at a far superior alacrity than that experienced by EBS from their legacy communications infrastructures.

"Through the implementation of next-generation business solutions from Avaya and HP, Baseline made available to EBS Africa, a solid foundation with which to provide their customers with new and enhanced solutions and services."

"Response times to customer requests can be halved," continued Du Plessis. "We`re giving our customers what they want faster and in a more productive and effective manner. With our new platform, we are meeting the demands of an ever-increasingly aware customer base, on their terms."

"The partnership (founded on the principles of Baseline`s Right Partner Program) between EBS Africa and Baseline, is set to continue for many years to come and includes potential mutual business opportunities in Gauteng and into Africa, specifically Nigeria," added Treweek.

"With the completion of what is essentially a complete turnkey IT and office automation solution, Baseline NGN confirmed what we already believed at EBS Africa: that a single service provider model across all spheres of business communications is the most effective operational model and that the days of multiple providers servicing a single customer is in fact not only ineffective to manage but is truly an antiquated business model, are over," reiterated Du Plessis.
