B2B tool for SMEs

MyTradeBook.com says it offers a business-to-business (B2B) tool to benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs), according to The Hindu Business Line.

The company describes itself as a free Web-based business-to-business tool that allows businesses to build networks, engage in interest groups, advertise products and services to buy and sell, recruit human resources and partner with organisations.

“A comparative study of B2B services offerings has given us unique leads with regard to value additions for users,” says Anton Koulakovskii, director of sales, marketing and international development, Mytradebook.com.

E-governance boost for SMEs

Small and medium enterprises at Adityapur in Seraikela-Kharsawan can look forward to improving their competitiveness through e-governance, reports The Telegraph in India.

To make it happen, the Adityapur small industries association (ASIA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with GTZ, a German-based firm.

After signing the MOU with technical adviser Ricarda Engelmeier, ASIA president SN Thakur said: “The objective of the tie-up is to improve the competence of small and medium enterprises through e-governance initiatives. It will also lead to increased productivity and create employment opportunities in the sector.”

Tech giants court small companies

A couple of tech giants you wouldn't expect are heavily wooing small businesses, reports USA Today.

IBM and Google have stepped up efforts to nudge Microsoft aside and become tech suppliers of choice to SMEs.

Big Blue is unveiling several products and services and Google has made it easy for users of Microsoft's Outlook e-mail program to also use its Web-based Google applications tools.
