SPI, the African distributor for utility software products and services to the Open Systems segment of the IT industry, today announced that Avbob Mutual Assurance Society had upgraded its Xi Text implementation to UK-based Open Systems Management's (OSM) COSprint.
“We have just migrated our systems to new hardware, but also needed to upgrade some of our software as well to take advantage of this situation,” commented Len de Kock, Manager Architecture and Contracts at Avbob. “One example of this was the migration to the standard COSprint product supplied through SPI, albeit with some minor changes undertaken for us by them. The COSprint software provides additional facilities for us and is much better suited to our new environment.”
“Avbob's move is one of a number of such migrations that we are seeing within our customer base,” added Chris Anderson, Managing Director of SPI. “Both COSprint and its sister product COSbatch are gaining a significant presence in South Africa, as well as a strong reputation as very powerful and stable software utilities.”
