Avaya communications solutions to be showcased at GITEX

Avaya a global leader in corporate networking solutions and services, will showcase its broad enterprise communications solutions portfolio designed to help businesses excel in the customer economy at this year`s GITEX exhibition, taking place from 14 to 18 October in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

In association with its BusinessPartners, Al Yousuf Computers, Bond Communications, Seven Seas Computers and Anixter, Avaya`s converged voice and data networks, MultiService Networking Infrastructure, Customer Relationship Management, Unified Communication, and Hosted Solutions will all be highlighted at the event.

"Avaya is a global leader in data and voice systems that help businesses tackle three key challenges: growing revenue, reducing costs and attracting as well as retaining customers. The solutions being shown, which are also deployed in more than 75% of the Fortune 500, help businesses of all sizes to meet these challenges," said Walter Koenig, regional managing director, Middle East, North Africa and South Eastern Europe, Avaya.

The comprehensive Avaya portfolio includes Avaya`s wireless business systems which offer a range of mobility solutions; Avaya`s SYSTIMAX Structured Connectivity Solution which meets high bandwidth requirements demanded by today`s competitive business environment; and the Cajun Campus family, a comprehensive local area network (LAN) portfolio of switches, which provides both explosive bandwidth requirements and meets the challenges associated with the convergence of data, voice, video and e-business applications across enterprise networks.

Avaya`s activities in unified communications, covering unified messaging, video conferencing, Web collaboration and portal technologies will be demonstrated, as will Avaya`s advances in IP telephony, which is supported by all of Avaya`s products. Once it is available in the region, customers will be able to enjoy the many benefits of the technology that makes voice and data work together. In the CRM sphere, Avaya will highlight how its solutions help businesses to provide consistent levels service to their customers, whether they interact through the Web, telephone, fax, e-mail or mail; how they can manage work flow to meet customer commitments; and how they can gather business intelligence on a customer`s buying patterns and preferences.

"Avaya`s world leading communications technologies for contact centres range from intelligent call routing systems and Interactive Voice Response and recognition systems to the latest virtual call centre and Internet contact centre technologies. These can be seen, along with Avaya`s industry-leading DEFINITY communications servers, which reinforce Avaya`s commitment to communication choices, by providing enterprises with the flexibility of moving voice, video and data traffic over the Internet, intranets, extranets, public-switched networks and ATM," added Koenig.

"DEFINITY IP Solutions which leverage enterprises` investments in existing voice and data networks, business applications, people resources and training bring the DEFINITY server`s unparalleled reliability (99.999%), scalability and robust features and applications to packet networks, will also be showcased."

Avaya is complementing its exhibitor presence with a comprehensive programme of 24 seminars for resellers and end-users, which will be conducted at Avaya`s permanent seminar room at the GITEX Reseller Channel Forum. Invitation only events will also be held for Avaya`s customers from the education and government sectors.

"As the largest channel event in the region, the forum provides an ideal venue for Avaya experts to offer their insight into a range of topics and issues that are of utmost importance to businesses in the Middle East and North Africa in the customer economy, where the need to focus on the customer is key to success.

The seminars will also explain how Avaya solutions and services help businesses to align and integrate their processes to become more customer-focused," said Koenig.

Of the six events that will be held each day, morning sessions will educate potential resellers on the benefits of becoming an Avaya distributor. End-user events will be held each afternoon and will feature specific products and solutions that help businesses to excel in an e-business environment.

Avaya will give away an Avaya Wireless Residential Gateway (RG 1) at a raffle, which will be held each day during GITEX. The RG 1 is part of Avaya`s Small Office & Home (SOHO), and it enables small office users and family members to share network services such as Internet access from anywhere in the home or small office environment.

The RG I acts as a central base station for multiple wireless users using the Avaya Wireless PC Card or USB Client. Remote Network Access can be provided via the built-in 56K modem or by the Ethernet port which connects to broadband cable, xDSL or ISDN services.
