ATIO supports JAM 'Feed a Child Campaign' for second year running - March 2011

Specialist ICT services provider ATIO is pleased to announce it will once again be supporting the Joint Aid Management (JAM) 'Feed a Child Campaign' in 2011.

ATIO's sponsorship will provide one meal a day for a year for the 40 children registered at the Reatakala Day Care Centre, in Orange Farm (Johannesburg), the centre that ATIO adopted in 2010.

“Here at ATIO we believe in equipping the young children of our nation in order to advance their chances of becoming valued citizens of South Africa,” says Chris Van der Sande, CEO of ATIO.

JAM is strongly aware that without adequate nutrition, children are unable to focus, retain or apply what they are learning. JAM's nutritional feeding programmes in South Africa focus mainly on child care centres, providing the children with a porridge-type blend, which supplies each child with 75% of its recommended daily allowance (RDA). For only R30, a child is fed in this way for a month!

“This is indeed great news for all the precious children at Reatakala. We are most grateful to ATIO for their continuous support and commitment, and we hope that many more organisations will follow suit by sponsoring JAM's feeding at child care centres,” says Ann Pretorius, JAM South Africa's Managing Director.

Already, one of ATIO's caring customers, Super Group, has followed ATIO's lead and has donated funds to JAM to feed 20 children in 2011. ATIO wishes to thank Super Group for its valued contribution, which will improve the lives of these children in 2011.

“We at ATIO are proud to be able to support the JAM 'Feed a Child Campaign' and urge everyone to get involved with this campaign to make a difference in the lives of so many children,” concludes Chris Van der Sande.
