Iraqi operator Asiacell revealed the introduction of its mobile health content download and SMS service, which is now available to prepaid and post-paid subscribers, reports the Telecom Paper.

The mobile health SMS service offers subscribers useful information on health practices, in addition to the latest updates on specific health topics of their choice.

According to Mobi Health News, topics include women's health, men's health, children's health, dieting, mental health, and diabetes.

The download service will have weekly health updates that cover topics such as sports and fitness, mental health, and emergency medicine.

Abdulla Hassan, Asiacell's public relations unit head, explained that the mobile health service reflects the company's interest in keeping abreast with the latest advances in the healthcare sector, and falls under its continuous efforts to raise health awareness among members of the Iraqi community, motivating them to adopt healthy lifestyles.

In turn, Dr Mustafa Adil, a medical expert, said maintaining a healthy lifestyle has become a major concern for communities, as people are more aware of the importance of following the latest health advancements and practices, writes AME Info.

He explained that Asiacell's mobile health service supports the healthcare sector's goal to promote sound health habits. Furthermore, Adil lauded Asiacell's efforts to utilise its expertise and offer cutting-edge services within different sectors.
