South African digital identity artificial intelligence (AI) start-up company iiDENTIFii is expanding its operations into Latin America.
The firm says it has been meeting with new partners and is ready to deploy its triangulation identity authentication technology in Mexico, Mexico City and across Latin America.
As a result, iiDENTIFii says, leading banks in Latin America have recognised its technology.
Locally, the company has partnered with Standard Bank, adding facial recognition to the bank’s app security.
The multi-factor authentication, which includes QR code and fingerprint biometrics, was rolled out for Standard Bank’s digital banking security.
Dubbed DigiMe, the security layer makes use of the latest biometric and facial recognition software, combined with multi-factor authentication, to create a safe and secure banking experience on a mobile device.
iiDENTIFii says its innovators “have spent close on five years coding their robust technology which augments online and offline identity, proves liveness of a remote individual and then tokenises the proof of liveness”.
It adds: “Having worked in Africa, Asia and Latin America, iiDENTIFii is deeply aware of the versatile needs of these complex markets. With a deep understanding of the importance of consistency, iiDENTIFii aims to build and deploy once, though its software development kits are easily adjusted to the specific needs of each organisation.”
The company says considering the complexities of indigenous data sovereignty, iiDENTIFii has expanded its global infrastructure to Microsoft Azure Cloud, “allowing for the deployment of its technology in Latin America to be seamless and concise”.
On Friday, the company announced that the exponential rate at which iiDENTIFii is growing has allowed for its platform to be deployed across a multi-hosted global infrastructure within a matter of months.
“With client demand across the globe, iiDENTIFii understands the complexities of indigenous data sovereignty, meaning that data is subject to the laws of the country in which it is located.”
It says iiDENTIFii ensures it hosts its platform on local infrastructure in every country in which its technology is being utilised.
“Adding the Microsoft Azure capability to its tenancy makes for a simplistic platform to host a complex environment.”
