Arineta, GE to develop cardio tech
Cardiology imaging developer Arineta has signed a strategic partnership with GE Healthcare to jointly develop computed tomography for cardiovascular applications, reports Globes.
Israel-based Arineta and GE Healthcare did not disclose details of the collaboration either, but, like similar agreements, Arineta will probably focus on the development of the product, while GE Healthcare will provide sales and marketing services.
Arineta chairman Yosi Morik said, "We believe this collaboration with GE Healthcare provides the most effective path for Arineta to bring its cardiovascular imaging technologies to market."
Biocon to counter hospital infections
Biocon has set up a new comprehensive care division to provide affordable solutions to hospital acquired infections, the leading biotech firm said Tuesday, states Sify.com
'The care division has been set up to counter the growing challenge of hospital acquired infections by providing affordable and specialised solutions to the affected patients,' Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar Shaw said in a statement here.
As the company's fifth division after diabetology, oncology, nephrology and cardiology, the new unit will use five homegrown drugs for treating critical illnesses such as septicemia, nosocomial pneuomonia and other acute hospital infections.
Arnie unveils California Telehealth Network
California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and US chief technology officer Aneesh Chopra to announce the launch of the California Telehealth Network (CTN), writes CivSource.
This is said to be the largest dedicated telehealth network in the country. The ambitious project is designed to provide more reliable health care information access in the state's rural and urban areas.
The CTN system is designed to connect teleheath devices across the state, with inaugural sites at Oroville Hospital in Oroville and CommuniCare Health Center in West Sacramento.
