The Sydney Department of Finance will gain a disaster recovery and business continuity system, dubbed Continuity of Government, reports Australian IT.

The technology was originally used for the high security APEC summit in Sydney and will be re-used by federal government departments as a portable disaster recovery system.

The four terabytes worth of data accumulated during three years of technology planning for APEC will be archived and stored on a transportable computing system.

QLogic releases storage router

QLogic has released the QLogic SANbox 6142 intelligent storage router and is available from Hitachi Data Systems, reports CNN Money

USC gets recovery protection

Sonasoft has announced that the IT department of Office of the Provost University at Southern California (USC) has successfully implemented Sonasoft's SonaSafe solution to protect the Exchange server, reports dBusinessNews.
