Amvia, Captaris to host international partner conference in SA

This week Cape Town will play host to the coming together of the Captaris partner network from all corners of the globe.

Captaris, in conjunction with local distributor and partner Amvia, will host the Captaris international partner conference for the first time in Cape Town South Africa. The conference, which is a highlight on the Captaris calendar, is held in different locations around the world on a yearly basis.

"We are thrilled to be able to be partnering in the hosting of this prestigious event, not only because it proves our commitment to Captaris as a partner, but that it allows us to open up SA itself and position it as a country which takes business seriously," says Kevin Hurwitz, managing director of Amvia.

Captaris has over the last two years redefined itself as a company and has positioned itself firmly in the knowledge worker, document management and business information delivery (BID) space. Not shirking its legacy as a prominent player in the voice messaging and desktop fax server space, the company has retuned these technologies and redefined them so as to take a portion of the document management arena.

The new strategy sees Captaris as a top contender for companies looking to manage document flow, manage document lifecycles, capture, route, monitor, keep records of, provide access to and later reroute information throughout and organisation whatever medium or format is deemed appropriate.

"We are very excited about Captaris` new strategy as it dovetails with our own vision and the vision of our partners, in so much as providing our customers with solutions which assist them in taking control of their organisations, and where necessary providing a single view of an enterprise. You can get so much more from your people if they have the tools to efficiently and effectively do their jobs," adds Hurwitz.

The Captaris conference will play host to international speakers from the likes of Gartner, Xerox, HP, Avanquest and Microsoft, all of which will share their vision and insight into the world of document workflow, document management, the knowledge worker and information as a business driver.

The company will also present the importance of its relationship with Microsoft, as one of the software giant`s top 35 Global Gold ISV partners and how its products are interoperable with the Microsoft platforms.
