Adobe TV gains momentum
Adobe Systems says its Adobe Pass authentication service for 'TV Everywhere' is now offered as a log-in option to content providers serving approximately 90% of the US pay TV market, reports Multichannel News.
Providers that offer a log-in option via Adobe Pass, which the company officially introduced in March, include Comcast, DirecTV, Dish Network, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Cablevision Systems, Charter Communications, Verizon Communications and Suddenlink Communications.
For content delivery, Adobe is rolling out a new version of Adobe Flash Media Server that can now deliver Flash technology to Apple iPhone and iPad devices, a new version of Adobe Flash Access, a robust content protection solution that is available for the Android platform and showcasing widespread adoption of Adobe Pass, a TV Everywhere user authentication solution used by leading broadcasters, says The Wall Street Journal.
For content creation, Adobe has acquired certain assets of IRIDAS, a leader in high performance tools for digital colour grading and enhancement of professional film and video; accelerated industry adoption of Adobe solutions for video creation, along with an expanded partner ecosystem.
Adobe Pass is seeing widespread adoption with popular programmers and content portals including Fox Networks, Turner Broadcasting (including the CNN app for iPad), Hulu, MTV Networks, Scripps Networks, Interactive and AMC Networks, that have chosen the solution to seamlessly and securely establish a user's entitlement to premium content anywhere, anytime and on virtually any device, according to Newsday.com.
Adobe Pass creates a seamless way for programmers to enable their subscribers to view content with just one sign-in and does not require any additional downloads.
