AddictingGames does social networking
Nickelodeon's AddictingGames, a gaming site, is turning itself into a social hang-out for Generation Y and their younger brothers and sisters, writes CNet.
This week, the company will announce several steps to turn its Flash-based games site into more of a community for teen players.
By the end of October, AddictingGames visitors will be able to create a member profile, featuring things like photos, member name, games played, high scores, and a buddy list.
Nintendo Wii leads the way
After 20 months since its official launch, Nintendo Wii is now the leader of the gaming consoles in the US, says eFluxMedia.
According to the latest figure released by The NPD Group, the company that tracks gaming sales in US, Nintendo Wii has 11 008 200 units, surpassing Microsoft's Xbox 360, which stands at 10 465 900 units.
Since the beginning of this year, Nintendo Wii has enjoyed strong sales month after month and June made no exception. According to The NPD Group, Nintendo Wii was again the number one in June with 666 700 Wiis.
E3 expo shows latest in gaming
The video game industry's biggest trade event, E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), took place last week in Los Angeles, reports Top News.
The E3 is a platform for the biggest players in the gaming industry to showcase their best.
This year's event showcased some of the latest offerings in hard-core shooter games, music games, sports games and many more. Shooting games included Resident Evil 5, God of War III, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Resistance 2, and Mad World. "Gears of War 2" was, however, the most anticipated title in this category.
