Acquia unveils apps market beta

Drupal services and hosting giant, Acquia has unveiled a beta version of Acquia Apps Market for its network service customers, reports TechWorld.

The Apps Market will allow third-party developers to offer Drupal-based services and applications for sale to subscribers to the Acquia Network.

CMS Wire says the subscription service is designed to help developers find answers, tools and support for Web sites running Drupal.

Peter Guagenti, Acquia VP of services, is confident that the new apps will help publishers improve their Drupal-related skills and abilities: “Acquia Network subscribers gain access to our tools, best practices, training videos from recognised Drupal experts, and the collective knowledge of Acquia's technical team and partners.”

Sys-Con states the Acquia Apps Market includes a store where Drupal users will be able to purchase applications developed by third-parties.

The beta version includes Mollom spam-blocking, New Relic performance optimisation, Mobify mobile interface design suite, and Visual Website Optimiser A/B testing tool.

It also provides metrics for site elements, search engine optimiser, a self-service performance testing platform and a library of tutorial videos.
