A fantastic and new era in technology for AC/DC Dynamics is on the horizon, and Synergy Group is honoured and proud to be a part of it.
AC/DC Dynamics is an industry leader in manufacturing, importing and distributing of products used in the electrical, electronic, pump and tool industries. Established in 1984, AC/DC Dynamics boasts a large number of branches and franchises across South Africa.
The head honchos at AC/DC Dynamics, Mario Maio (Managing Member), Roger Burrows (Operations Manager), and Adrian Burney (IT Manager) are at the helm of a company that will pretty soon be the proud owners of one of the leading infrastructure systems currently available.
The problem AC/DC Dynamics is facing:
One of the biggest IT problems facing companies today is the lack of infrastructure to deal with the excessive amount of data being processed and the agility to adapt when new systems are required. Aging hardware is almost always the reason, as well as costly IT silos that pretty much don't allow them to expand or broaden their horizons.
This was the problem AC/DC Dynamics was facing when a decision was made to upgrade the Sage ERP Accpac system to Sage ERP X3.
During the infrastructure discovery phase, it was realised that a full upgrade of all key systems would be required, including, Exchange Email, Domain Controllers, Firewalls and file storage.
The best way to solve these requirements was to create a hybrid cloud solution for the client.
So, what is the solution that ACDC Dynamics has ordered?
Based on HP's Converged Infrastructure solution, Synergy Group will consolidate 20 physical servers into eight physical Blade servers with 16 Virtual Windows Servers. Storage will be hosted on HP's top-of-the-line, flagship storage system known as 3PAR.
Brennan Fitz, main IT cowboy from Synergy, had this to say: “The reason we at Synergy are so excited about this deal is that AC/DC Dynamics is receiving a major infrastructure upgrade on their enterprise servers and storage; we will be able to place them at the top end of the CI (Converged Infrastructure) maturity model with life cycle management and self-service applications.”
The CI (Converged Infrastructure) model will allow AC/DC Dynamics to reduce the time to go live on Sage ERP X3, increase the redundancy of key systems and see a reduction in costs on management, power and cooling. Most importantly, as a company, AC/DC Dynamics will have a system that is agile, flexible and able to grow and meet the changing and increased demands that such a successful company requires of its IT systems.
Making it all possible
Ashley Regenass, CEO of Synergy Group, is passionate about this new solution: “Even more impressive, HP 3PAR is totally compatible with Sage ERP X3, a system that AC/DC Dynamics recently started to implement, thus making this upgrade crucial and very beneficial to them.”
A big thank you
Miles Regenass, IT Solutions Specialist at Synergy Group, mentioned: “When AC/DC decided to move from [Sage ERP] Accpac to [Sage ERP] X3, we knew a full upgrade of the current network, servers and storage would be required. It was a very exciting system to design as the timing was perfect for the client to on-board the brilliant HP converged systems offering. A combination of Blade servers, virtual connects and HP's 3PAR storage offering will allow us to deliver enterprise systems in a seamless and efficient manner. Many thanks to HP and Tarsus for their expert assistance and advice in helping us design the system.”
Adrian Burney, head of IT at AC/DC Dynamics, mentioned: “HP 3PAR is the ideal system for our company. This system will be streamlining all the processes within the business, making it foolproof and, in the end, consolidating all of our information.”
Exciting and fun times ahead for AC/DC Dynamics; we at Synergy Group wish them all the best.
