Premier ACCPAC solution provider, AccTech Systems, is installing ACCPAC Advantage Series Enterprise Edition at Malawian financial services company, NICO Holdings Limited.
NICO Holdings Limited (formerly The National Insurance Company Limited) offers insurance, banking and information technology services. The group, which was the first company to list on the Malawi Stock Exchange, also has hospitality industry and real estate interests.
"NICO Holdings currently comprises six subsidiary companies - NICO General Insurance Company Limited; NICO Life Insurance Company Limited; NICO Insurance Zambia Limited; NICO Technologies Limited; Imperial Insurance Company (Uganda) Limited; and NBS Bank Limited," says Tertius Zitzke, Managing Director of AccTech Systems. "Phase one of the ACCPAC installation is being carried out at NICO Life Insurance Company," he adds.
According to Keith Fenner, Director of Solutions and Business Development at AccTech Systems, NICO Holdings opted for ACCPAC`s core financial system as well as the Asset Management system, Assetware.
"The installation will include ACCPAC`s award-winning core financials solution provided under the company`s Site Licence agreement for the remote sites in Malawi and abroad," adds Fenner. "Integration with the respective subsidiary companies` production systems, which include Infinity, I3MS, MGIS and GLOBUS, is via Peresoft Cashbook."
According to Ben Makhela, Project Manager at NICO Holdings Limited, a major benefit of the ACCPAC installation is that the multi-currency module shall allow the company to report and consolidate its financials across multiple currencies.
"The integration with the production systems will obviously improve our operational and reporting efficiency," he adds.
"NICO Holdings is a major client for us in Malawi and future phases of the project will include installations at sites in Zambia, Uganda and Tanzania. Our successful expansion in this region over the past 10 years is testament to our commitment to and understanding of African business," Zitzke concludes.
