Abba offers business continuity session
US IT advisory and integration firm Abba Technologies will offer a free introductory session on business continuity planning on July 24 in Albuquerque, reports the New Mexico Business Weekly.
Planning experts and Abba representatives will discuss ways to prepare for disasters and provide an overview of Abba's business continuity planning course.
Abba will also supervise a checklist exercise for participants to help identify risks that could threaten businesses and to assess how prepared companies are to face disasters.
Repligen receives business continuity certification
Repligen Corporation says it is the first company in North America to receive certification to BS25999, the new standard for business continuity management, reports The Sun Herald.
Repligen developed and implemented a business continuity management system to ensure an uninterrupted supply of its recombinant Protein A products, a key consumable used by the biopharmaceutical industry to manufacture drugs called monoclonal antibodies.
Certification of Repligen's business continuity management system to BS25999 demonstrates that its program meets globally accepted best practices for business continuity, it says.
Business continuity course in Qatar
An international Diploma course in disaster management will be presented in Doha, Qatar, during December to teach a certified methodology for developing Business Continuity Plans, reports My Solution.
Entitled "BS 25999 - Business Continuity Management", the workshop will cover the new British Standard 25999 regarding business continuity management, from project inception through to implementation and management.
The Institute for Business Continuity Training is hosting this workshop. Invitations have gone out to all major corporations and business associations in the Gulf Region to send representatives to the course.
