A contract to supply and assist in the implementation of a full SAP Business One financial accounting and material requirements planning (MRP) software system for Sensory Solutions, a provider of Access Technology solutions for the visually impaired, has been won by SAP specialist 4most, a Logic Group company.
The solution includes financials, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashbook, purchasing, sales inventory, MRP, assemblies, service management and serial number tracking per contract, the latter being a most important factor for Sensory Solutions.
The company specialises in providing technological solutions for the visually impaired, from the design and implementation of Disability Units at universities and colleges, to the establishment of accessible ICT laboratories at schools and training centres for the visually impaired.
Alex Viviers, sales director at 4most, said the solution will also include workflow approval procedures and alerts, as well as customer relationship management (CRM) and sales opportunity features, all integrated with MS Office.
“The integration of CRM and service management provides functionality for training schedules and generates improved statistics and reports. Operating within a service industry where one's products are exclusively destined for visually impaired users, places a substantial focus on timeous and correct service interventions and client follow-ups, especially insofar as warranty or service repairs are concerned. Keeping accurate track of serial numbers allocated to individual clients enables a holistic response to issues such as upgrades, quotations, repairs, warranties and the like,” said Viviers.
The SAP solution provides real-time information on service calls, including serial numbers and historical information on any item to be serviced or repaired. “A service monitor provides alerts on outstanding services or repairs and there are approval procedures for improved control of service or repair timeframes and stock in hand,” added Viviers.
The system will operate on a local area network and as a real-time, fully integrated system, will offer Sensory Solutions full ERP functionality. The system is scheduled to go live at the end of July.
Centurion-based Sensory Solutions has considerable experience in accommodating blind or partially sighted people in the work and education environments. The company has an ever-increasing footprint throughout South Africa and its neighbouring countries, already implementing solutions and servicing clients as far afield as Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia and others.
