Ashleigh Meiring is a self-described privacy nerd and dreamer with a passion for learning. Meiring loves finding new ways to challenge her thinking and beliefs. She is the global VP of Data Privacy and Protection at NTT and is currently based in her hometown of Johannesburg, where she lives with her husband, Hein, and two cats, Kit Kat and Nutella. Meiring’s portfolio at NTT involves setting the strategic direction and management of data privacy and protection initiatives and implementation across the business’s core functions and technology solutions.

Meiring believes in designing technology for good and building trust in organisations through the ethical use of data and technology. She is recognised as a Fellow in Information Privacy, and she completed her MBA in 2020 at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, where she achieved recognition as the top student in the Mastering Strategic Foresight elective. In addition, Meiring holds several professional certifications in data protection and cyber security.

Meiring previously served as an IAPP Johannesburg KnowledgeNet chapter chairperson and has contributed to developing skills and knowledge in the field through a number of professional speaking engagements and articles.
