Head of Department, Gauteng Department of e-Government
Cyril Baloyi is the Head of Department at the Gauteng Department of e-Government, previously he was the group chief technology officer for the City of Johannesburg, responsible for collaborating, consolidating and centralising the city’s entire ICT landscape to reduce systems and process duplications and accelerate the city and its citizens’ ambitions by ensuring effective and efficient ICT-driven solutions. Previously, he was the public sector services head at Dimension Data and former enterprise infrastructure head at MTN Nigeria, where he was responsible for managing ICT with over 60 million subscribers. He is actively involved in various public debates on how ICT transformation impacts citizens. He currently holds an MBA, a post-graduate qualification in business management and MDP from Unisa SBL, a B-Tech: IT degree and National Diploma: IT from Tshwane University of Technology. He is currently waiting for approval for his thesis for his PhD on a development model on digital transformation and its impact on social development.
