White paper: How to make your data catalogue the central point of your data governance strategy

Companies are flooded with data.

From valuable customer insights to seemingly endless masses of metadata, what sets data-driven companies apart from their competitors isn’t how much data they gather, but how they use it.

This is where metadata and data governance become invaluable. Metadata can be described as “data about data”. It gives us more information about the data we already possess, which – in turn – increases the value of that data.

However, metadata on its own is inherently useless.

If we were to comb a database for every piece of metadata, it would be difficult to gather any real insights or value without understanding the inter-relationship between various elements of metadata and data. This white paper explores this relationship.
