Gendac, CellFind deliver iFind solution

Johannesburg, 05 Jul 2005

Gendac (www.gendac.co.za) and CellFind (www.cellfind.co.za) have partnered to develop the software for the iFind 34600 SMS directory service (www.ifind.co.za).

The iFind service is an SMS-based directory service that provides advertisers the unique opportunity to promote their products and services to the entire mobile community. Cellular phone users can locate products, services and advertisers on the iFind system by simply sending an SMS with the desired keyword to 34600. iFind then returns up to three SMS messages with the names and phone numbers of advertisers that supply the desired products or services.

The iFind call centre is operational 24-hours per day to assist users with queries. The integration of the iFind call centre with CellFind`s systems means that users can also call the call centre to help them locate products and services. Gendac developed the call centre software to interface with the Mitel VOIP system, used by iFind. The call centre software is also integrated with CellFind`s cell location technology, giving iFind the ability to help clients telephonically to locate the service provider closest to their current cellular location.

iFind was launched on 3 April and has since grown to the largest SMS-based directory service in SA.

The iFind system is a service-oriented architecture (SOA) application that was developed using Microsoft .NET technologies such as XML Web services, ADO.NET and .NET Remoting. Reports are created using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
