Wired4Women Awards 2025
While significant efforts have been made to improve diversity in South Africa's ICT sector, the gender gap remains significant. Addressing this requires a shift in mindset: young women need to see that a career in tech is both achievable and rewarding; they need to see more women succeeding in this field.
Last year, the Wired4Women Tech Forum and ITWeb Brainstorm launched the Wired4Women Awards to recognise excellence and encourage broader participation for future generations.
The response was phenomenal, culminating in a gala event in May 2024 – a true celebration of the breadth of female tech talent and impact.
As we launch the second annual Wired4Women Awards, our goal is to uphold the integrity and independence that define these accolades and further raise awareness of remarkable women in South African ICT.
The awards cover a wide range of roles, from CIOs and leaders of tech companies, to entrepreneurs, innovators, and students about to embark on their careers.
Wired4Women Awards to recognise excellence
What
Following last year’s overwhelming success, Wired4Women Tech Forum is proud to host the second Wired4Women Awards.
Across 13 categories covering leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, tech talent and more, these prestigious awards celebrate the excellence and impact of women in South Africa's tech industry, and aim to inspire greater participation by providing role models for future generations.
How
The awards are run with independence and integrity, beginning with a public call for nominations. Anyone can submit a nomination via this portal, provided it meets the criteria and follows our competition rules.
Our judging panel will select the finalists in each category, and the winners will be announced at a gala event where awards and prizes will be presented.
Where & When
Nominations must be submitted by 14 February 2025
After the announcement of the finalists in February, a rigorous adjudication process will take place to select the winners.
The winners will be revealed on 3 April 2025 at the Wired4Women Awards Banquet at The Forum, Hyde Park.

Wired4Women Awards has partnered with iSchoolAfrica to give young girls in under resourced schools and marginalised communities access to the world’s best technology, digital literacy, coding and robotics.
Together with our partners and award winners, we will empower young girls to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in their communities and builders of their own futures.
