Lucas is a seasoned Cyber forensic and digital expert with over 17 years of experience in local and international assignments. Lucas has deep expertise in investigating cybercrimes, fraud and misconduct, cyber incident response, litigation, and investigation support including Electronic Discovery and data analytics.

He holds a BCom degree in informatics, certified in various digital forensic analytics platforms, and has an international business management certificate with IMD Switzerland.

Lucas currently holds the position of Head of Cyber Forensics at Absa Group.

He has previously worked on and led digital forensic and investigation projects in multiple African countries, UAE, and Russia, including high-profile cases law enforcement.

Lucas has presented as an expert at various fraud awareness and financial crime forums on investigating cybercrimes and handling electronic evidence. He has also published thought leadership on topics such as payment fraud linked to business email compromise and email spoofing.

He was selected and represented South Africa at a global forensic next-generation initiative for an international consultancy firm.

Lucas has also been a member of the global eDiscovery management and technology special interest group, focusing on innovation and technology.

Having spent several years of his career in management consulting and auditing firms, he gained vast experience in various industries (such as Telecommunications, Energy and natural resources, and the Public sector, etc.), and has established himself as an expert within his field.
