Registration is now open for ITWeb’s 15th annual Security Summit.  

The annual gathering of SA’s and Africa’s cyber security professionals and decision makers, it offers a unique platform that sees leading global and local information security minds exchange the very latest ideas and solutions.

The 2020 event, set to take place from 23 to 25 June in Johannesburg, and from 29 to 30 June in Cape Town, already has seven high-profile international speakers lined up, in addition to local experts and ground-breaking case studies.

“This year’s event is themed ‘Increasing your cyber agility to build secure ecosystems’,” says Angela Mace, CRM and Events Director at ITWeb. “The event promises to help delegates to achieve exactly that.”

She says that in today’s increasingly complex IT environments, the perimeters of the traditional organisation are shifting and blurring, and attackers are not only more determined than ever, they are also constantly coming up with ever more sophisticated tools to evade security nets.

“This is why it is more critical than ever for businesses to arm themselves with the latest knowledge, techniques and solutions to harden their defences and prevent malefactors from achieving their ends,” says Mace.

There is also something for every level of skill and interest at the summit.

“Irrespective of whether delegates are on the business or the technical side, be they seasoned professionals or those just starting out in security and wanting more advice on the latest security trends, developments and technologies, the event will feature sessions for them.”

This year’s summit will cover a wide range of topics, including best practice in threat intelligence collaboration and sharing; security as a business enabler; the pros and cons of data protection and privacy legislation; AI, machine learning and automation, and their role in cyber security; cloud and IOT security challenges; and how to address the security skills shortage in SA.

“We will also look at the security implications of 4IR and today’s digital economy, as well as at effective vulnerability management and creating a culture shift towards embracing security in your organisation.”

The ITWeb Security Summit 2020 will be held from 23 to 25 June at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, and from 29 to 30 June at Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town.
