Dr. Thabang Mathonsi is a seasoned data practitioner and strategist who is passionate about democratizing Al. He is also an avid chess player, with over 3000 recorded blitz and rapid-time format games in the database. Thabang has previously led data analytics and data science services at Fintechs and research labs and has also lectured graduate courses to the next generation of data and AI practitioners. With a Masters in Quantitative Finance and a Ph.D. in A.I., he currently serves as the Head of Strategic Analytics within Fraud Strategy at ABSA Group.
