Managing Director, Accenture

David is a Managing Director at Accenture and Leads the Accenture Intelligent Engineering Services (IES) practice across Africa. IES provides the capability to architect and solution of all things “New IT”, including; Site Reliability and Platform Engineering, Light Weight Architecture (Agile, DevOps, Test Automation, Microservices, containerisation), Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Blockchain, and Security architecture.

David is a domain expert in technical architecture and clinical systems architecture, and has worked internationally across most industry verticals.

For the past several years David has been working with clients as a modernisation specialist, with a focus on New IT adoption. Some of his recent relevant programmes include;

2014 – Current; Technical Account Lead, Programme Delivery Lead and Architecture Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a Multi-National South African Based Insurance Provider.
- Replacement of a bespoke legacy solution with an international multi-tenanted platform as a service solution to be deployed to more than 20 countries on a “New IT”, single code base solution.

2012 – 2014; Lead Architect for a multi-year modernisation journey for one of the largest Pension Agencies in the world based in South Africa.
- Replacement of a legacy mainframe onto a loosely coupled, process driven, service based solution that reduced pension processing from an average of 30 days to near real-time.

2009 – 2012; Client Lead Architect for the modernisation of the South African Customs Solution
- Replacement of a legacy mainframe solution with a custom Java developed solution that reduced Customs Clearing from and average of 7 days to near real-time.

2009 – 2012; Client Lead Architect for the modernisation of the South African Customs Solution 2005 – 2009; Lead Integration Architect for a National Health Department in Australia
- Development of the first eHealth record in Australia supporting 220 Hospital Facilities across Queensland
