Kutlwano Chaba is the Chief Digital Officer at SALGA – with the key responsibility to drive the local government’s digital agenda. He has over 20 years within the technology space – contributing directly, and through consulting, to industries including automotive, medical insurance, technology, oil/gas, FMCG, and logistics. At SALGA he is tasked with laying the program for common digital approaches within the sector – focusing on building digital maturity, identifying, and deploying fit-for-purpose digital solutions, and providing data science services. He is also responsible for driving the aggressive rollout of broadband infrastructure in more previously neglected areas and exploring broadband business models for local government. With his passion for innovation – he has spent time mentoring and coaching tech-focused businesses – something he continues to do with young technology innovators.
