Zaheera Ahmed is the Data Privacy Officer for the Absa Group who holds a degree in Economic Science (University of the Witwatersrand) and professional qualifications in privacy (CIPP/E) and information systems auditing (HDip Computer Auditing). She is a passionate, seasoned privacy professional with almost a decade of privacy experience in the financial services industry.

Zaheera is seen as a trusted advisor and is able to bridge the gap between business and legislative/regulatory requirements by pragmatically applying the concept of privacy by design. She has worked in the United Kingdom, United States of America and provided auditing services in Mali as well. She has highly effective communication and relationship building skills with senior stakeholders that has made her a success in the privacy space.
