Spinnaker Software, marketer of Arch Retail Systems, recently celebrated its tenth anniversary as an independent force in the point of sale (PoS) industry in southern Africa.
From humble beginnings, the company has grown to one of the major players in integrated retail management solutions. Arch is the management solution of choice in over 850 stores, inclusive of household names such as OK Foods, Food Lover's Market and Masscash (wholesale division of Massmart/Walmart in SA).
In addition, the software, which is highly scalable, is also applied in smaller independent groups and individual stores. Arch software is written in-house and as such, continuous development ensures the solution is dated and applicable to African retail and wholesale operations.
A number of software products are available, such as Arch Retail (mainline in-store management product); Arch Express (suited to smaller kiosk and convenience type stores); Arch Value Adds (integrated to Arch: eg, electronic funds transfer, prepaid airtime, Arch Mobile, StopLift, CashGuard); and Arch Enterprise (head office management system, ensuring central management and control).
The software is backed by innovative PoS hardware solutions, from conventional PC-based equipment, to advanced all-in-one touch-screen technology, back-office machines and a full range of peripherals.
