Independent IT solutions provider First Technology has agreed on a joint venture with Tomorrows Technology Solutions (TTS) - the integrated hospitality and technology supplier - to provide a comprehensive guest management solution to hotel groups around the country.
Sam Danon, CEO of TTS, says the decision to partner with First Technology was because of First Technology`s skills in the hardware and networking sector, which complement TTS`s expertise in property management systems (PMS), software interface, and guest entertainment and management solutions.
One of TTS solutions is installed at Sun City. This incorporates a Web-based interactive service comprising in-room entertainment such as `pay-per-view` movies, a customer feedback interface and hotel information - all via each hotel room`s television screen.
"The agreement between TTS and First Technology will offer true business value to the hospitality industry," Danon says.
"TTS has traditionally sold interactive television services to the hospitality industry, incorporating a television interface and automatic billing through the hotel`s PMS interface. We needed to partner with an IT company with countrywide coverage and representation. First Technology fitted the bill. As a result of our co-operative agreement, both TTS and First Technology will benefit from improved prospects in this dynamic industry."
Danon points out that the combination of First Technology`s technical expertise and TTS`s software management systems offers a unique solution to a traditional industry.
"Using NiteVision property management system (PMS) from Remco Software - to which TTS has the sole distribution and support rights in SA - we will be targeting hotel groups, most of which still use the old DOS-based PMS systems," he adds.
The Remco Software solution incorporates a Web-based central reservation system, a powerful, yet easy-to-use property management system and honour of being the preferred system in some of America`s largest casinos, resorts and hotel chains.
"Once the system has been configured, all required information is pushed through to the billing system, thereby ensuring that the customer is charged for all services utilised. TTS provides full technical support on a 24x7 basis, training via the Internet, on CD or on-site, and customised solutions to the hotel groups as per their requests.
NiteVision is simple to use, presenting a graphic user interface (GUI), customised menus, and a wide range of functionality, including an e-mail communication system," he explains.
Dennis Duff, regional technical SLA manager at First Technology, says the relationship with TTS is growing strongly.
"Our proven technical expertise, in conjunction with the hospitality industry experience offered by TTS, has created a partnership that is now able to provide a holistic solution to a wider range of potential customers. We are looking forward to a number of new and exciting ventures going forward," he concludes.
