Zetes launches new approach to pallet loading control to ensure 100% accurate shipments

* Faster loading of vehicles
* 100% accurate shipments
* Easy to use, no training required
* Combats fraud with visual proof of load and condition

To help its customers avoid costly incorrect shipments and fraudulent claims for damages, Zetes extends its proven solution for logistics execution optimisation, ZetesMedea with a module for Dock Door Control. Using ImageID technology, ZetesMedea Dock Door Control automates the pallet loading control process at the dock door. It not only speeds up the loading processes, but also guarantees the right pallets are loaded onto the right truck and provides visual proof of the load and its condition. The new module is expected to generate major cost savings for any company providing logistics services.

Error-free shipments

Zetes' logistics execution solution, ZetesMedea, controls warehouse processes from goods receipt to goods issue, enabling cost-effective, fast and efficient process optimisation for error-free logistics management. The new Dock Door Control module provides automatic control of the loading process using ImageID technology. Cameras installed at the dock door detect and analyse pallet labels instantly as goods are loaded. This triggers a go/no go signal, preventing operators from loading the wrong items on the wrong vehicle. An image of the load and its condition is stored in the Image Bank for proof of load and condition.

Faster, more efficient loading

The control process is fully automated, which generates 3 important benefits: human errors are eliminated, the system requires no training to operate, and several operators can simultaneously load the same truck. Powerful ImageID technology enables fast and efficient execution, with
* Detection of pallet IDs anywhere on the pallet and at any angle, using a camera with large field and depth of view.
* In-motion scanning, with pallet IDs detected up to 20km/h.

Image bank for visual proof of load and condition

A picture of every pallet is taken and stored in the image bank, providing visual proof of the load and its condition in the event of customer claims. This proof-of-loading and proof-of-condition material helps companies to dramatically reduce fraudulent claims and disputes, which generates significant cost and time savings.

Juan Jose Martinez, President of the Goods ID Division at Zetes, comments, "ZetesMedea Dock Door Control is a powerful extension of our logistics execution solution. Thousands of customers around EMEA are already using the ZetesMedea module to reduce the number of picking errors in the warehouse. However, mistakes continue to be made during the loading phase. ZetesMedea Dock Door Control is the next step towards achieving 100% error-free deliveries. And with the image bank, we also provide a solution to the growing need for visibility and traceability."

Further to this, Karin Parker, Executive Head of Sales and Marketing for Zetes SA, adds that this solution can integrate RFID technology gates, readers and tags from leading manufacturers to ensure 100% accuracy for shipments. "RFID technology-based shipping verification can yield the most benefits," states Parker.

"Moreover, by combining this solution with the ZetesMedea voice picking technology, clients can dramatically increase the efficiency from goods in to goods out, and ensure full traceability throughout their entire warehouse operations, allowing for the 'perfect order' to their own customers. This solution is set to revolutionise the pallet loading control process," says Parker.

ZetesMedea Dock Door Control is part of Zetes' Collaborative Supply Chain solutions portfolio and can be integrated with any WMS/ERP, including SAP.
