Wits Health Consortium selects Softline VIP as exclusive payroll solutions provider

Softline VIP's user friendly payroll solution is making a difference at Wits Health Consortium. The medical research institution, which implemented VIP Premier earlier this year, is enjoying the benefits of the easy-to-use solution and the valuable reports it is able to generate, says Wits Health Consortium General Manager for Payroll, Jenny Appanna.

Wits Health Consortium is a subsidiary of Wits University, which administrates donor funding for medical research. The organisation employs a variety of staff to conduct research mainly around HIV and Aids.

The consortium was unhappy with its previous HR system due to a lack of service and delivery, so earlier this year it approached Softline VIP to implement a new payroll solution.

“We decided to go with Softline VIP because they are well known and highly recommended in the industry,” says Appanna. The VIP team of staff and consultants started working with Wits Health Consortium in March of this year to implement VIP Premier with payroll, leave, personnel and employment equity and skills modules. At present, the company is implementing Softline Accpac to integrate its payroll and finance data. “Next year we plan to expand our system to include the full VIP HR Premier suite, and we now only use Softline VIP solutions,” says Appanna.

Softline VIP Sales Director Sandra Swanepoel explains that “the software is online and the real-time design ensures that payroll processing is faster and easier to use. VIP Premier contains the latest legislative changes that enable payroll administrators to make the most accurate and up-to-date calculations. All this is combined in a package that can be maintained by updating earnings, deductions and methods.”

“VIP solutions are easy to use and understand, and there is so much you are able to do, from integrating finance with payroll to drawing reports on all your activities,” says Appanna. “We are also so happy with VIP's excellent and professional support staff. The team of consultants we worked with were excellent at what they do, and held our hands through the whole implementation process and changeover from our old system,” concludes Appanna.

Softline VIP is a leading supplier of payroll and human resource management solutions in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. The company boasts more than 24 000 clients, and its three payroll and human resource management products are able to meet the needs of any size company.
