Wishlist solves management problems with PSNext

Wishlist Corporation has implemented PSNext as an essential business management tool to manage functions ranging from project and resource planning and tracking to communicating and billing.

Consisting of consultants and developers, Wishlist Corporation is in the business of selling time. Although little known in other industries, Wishlist is well known in heavy industry and the services sector. Some Wishlist consultants are involved in high value critical projects such as increasing the power generation capabilities of South Africa.

"We needed to find a system that could manage and track our entire business process," according to Neville Levinthal, MD. "Previously projects and resources were managed separately. Projects were planned and costed using generic resources, making it difficult to monitor actual resource work performed against the project plan.

"Before implementing PSNext, we had to spend many hours collating, allocating and tracking timesheets against projects. Not only was this time-consuming, but also led to errors."

Levinthal noted that before PSNext there were occasions when this process was not completed in time for project review and steering committee meetings. Thanks to PSNext, this is no longer the case.

PSNext from Sciforma Corp has proved to be an excellent tool to solve these management problems. "For the first time we are now able to integrate project planning with resources management. Our consultants are now able to capture their timesheets online, in real-time. After management approval of timesheets, projects are automatically updated with the hours and cost."

This has saved the administrative department days in timesheet processing and enabled Wishlist to track both consultants` activities and project progress on a daily basis.

Given that PSNext is fully Web-based, consultants are now able to log in from any location. They check what work has been planned for them the following week. Consultants are also aware of their required objectives and able to view any discussion notes or documents linked to their tasks.

"This increases the efficiency of our resources, while providing an environment for our team to ask questions and cross-pollinate ideas regarding project tasks.

"We are very impressed with the reporting facilities in PSNext," says Levinthal. "We can now provide our customers accurate daily reports containing the specific information they require. PSNext is an essential business management tool. It enables us to manage our entire business covering project and resource planning, billing, managing, tracking and communicating. Today our business cannot function without PSNext."

PSNext is supported in South Africa by Management Planning Systems.
