VoxTelecom has helped Wine of the Month Club, South Africa`s leading mail-order wine merchant, to shave over R500 000 a month off its telephony bills by implementing a voice over IP (VOIP) network and other improvements to the company`s telephony infrastructure.
Wine of the Month Club has recently expanded its business to include a selection of premium coffees, whisky and brandy, as well as marketing additional services to its existing subscription list. The company`s outbound calling campaign saw its in-house call centre grow by 250% within a year in 2005, creating a need to explore cost savings as well as increase network capacity.
"Wine of the Month Club had an old Telkom PABX and a handful of cell routers that just couldn`t handle the increased volumes," explains VoxTelecom`s General Manager for the Western Cape, Tony Knight.
"They needed to connect high volumes of quality calls, so we implemented telco-grade equipment into their call centre. This infrastructure enables us to deliver all their outbound calls through our network or the appropriate cellular networks to maximise savings. As a result, they`ve cut their telecommunications costs by over 45% and have the flexibility to grow without incurring exorbitant costs."
"We`re saving over R500 000 a month on our phone bills and our workflow has improved," says a spokesperson for Wine of the Month Club. "VoxTelecom and their partner 3 Tier have provided essential support for our growth in the past 18 months. They have a lot of experience and they gave us the solution we needed fast and very cost-effectively."
"The VoxTelecom solution also improves our clients` access to important management information," adds Knight. "There`s a powerful, flexible range of reports as well as live call monitoring capability to support managers. This can be just as important as the raw cost savings."
