At the end of 2018, Gartner estimated the global public cloud services market would grow by 17.3% in 2019 to $206.2 billion, up from the $175.8 billion the previous year. Many analysts consider the cloud to be the cornerstone of digital transformation and a fundamental stepping stone towards becoming a more connected business.
But, the growing momentum to embrace the cloud for its efficiency and cost benefits should not come without caveats. While it is incredible to think the 'modern' cloud has been around for more than a decade, there are still risks attached to migrating to this environment.
