Vodacom uses SAS for greater transparency, cost control

By SAS Institute
Johannesburg, 16 Sep 2004

Leading cellular service provider, Vodacom has invested in the SAS Activity Based-Management (ABM) solution from SAS Institute SA, valued at about R400 000.

SAS ABM enables organisations to identify the most and least profitable customers, products and channels, determine the true contributors to - and detractors from - financial performance, and accurately predict costs, profits and resource requirements associated with changes in production volumes, organisational structure and resource costs.

Vodacom will use the SAS ABM software for telecommunications regulatory reporting in SA, Tanzania, Lesotho, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
