AccTech Systems, 2006 Softline ACCPAC business partner of the year, has successfully assisted Venter Trailers to modernise its IT infrastructure and streamline operations.
The two-fold project involved rationalising both the manufacturing and the retail operations, which run as separate business entities.
Tertius Zitzke, managing director, AccTech Systems says: "We are delighted to assist Venter Trailers to upgrade its systems and successfully bring the 'ventertjies' back onto our South African roads."
Zitzke says the first phase included an upgrade of Venter Manufacturing's old DOS operated workflow system into Accpac ERP. He says the benefits were almost immediate for Venter Trailers.
"Accpac ERP has improved our efficiency significantly as we save time on mundane tasks that are now automated such as month-end data movements, tax and inventory and warranty tracking. It results in real-time analysis and reporting as well as a much quicker month-end procedures," comments Detlef Hamann, Managing Director, Venter Trailers.
The second phase involved implementing Accpac Retail Management Solution (RMS) to create an integrated system between local branches and the head office. It enables local branches to process invoices and receipts directly on the main server via VPN, avoiding time consuming re-capturing at the head office. The Open Database Connectivity also sped up the reporting process from weeks to days.
"We are going through very exciting times. Implementing Accpac ERP and Accpac RMS fits into our long-term plan to position Venter Trailers among South Africa's strongest brands," concludes Hamann.
