US Navy outlines ICT plans
The US Navy's IT project list for the new fiscal year includes security, network architecture planning, more effective use of wireless spectrum, and improved IT management and information sharing, reports InformationWeek.
The navy plans to reduce data breaches by 25% by extending protection to mobile devices, encrypt stored data and reduce the amount of personally identifiable information it stores.
In addition, the navy is redefining its networking roadmap, implementing enterprise architecture governance and investing in green IT and cloud computing.
Training centre to probe financial policy
The University of Maryland's Robert H Smith School of Business, in the US, is set to unveil the Centre for Financial Policy, next month, says Reuters.
The global financial crisis has generated debate on the role of executive pay and flawed compensation practices, which have contributed to financial excesses that brought down the entire financial system.
The Centre for Financial Policy aims to promote corporate governance, capital allocation and risk management, emerging markets, and the stability of the global financial system.
Solix Technologies, Q Software partner
Enterprise data management solutions provider Solix Technologies has partnered with Q Software, a provider of security, risk management and compliance software, states My Iris.
The partnership results in a risk management and compliance solution being offered to Oracle's JD Edwards customers.
Mike Ward, Q Software managing director, says: “We look forward to a long-term partnership with Solix as we help our joint customers to mitigate the risks associated with the data security and improve their IT governance for JD Edwards applications.”
