University transmits live op in 3D
The University of Liege has claimed a European first by transmitting a live neurosurgical operation to an audience in 3D, according to E-Health Europe.
The operation was performed at the University Hospital of Liege and watched by members of the public in a cinema in Sauvenier, 10km away.
Spectators were able to speak to the neurosurgeon, Professor Didier Martin, throughout the event, which was organised for the ImageSante festival.
