Tactile Technologies announces establishment of sister company in SA

Tactile Technologies, the official and sole distributor of Elo Touch Solutions in sub-Saharan Africa, today announced the establishment of a sister company in South Africa, namely Newland ID South Africa, which is based in Linbro Business Park, Johannesburg.

Newland ID South Africa is part of Newland EMEA (Newland Europe BV), a company dedicated to the development and deployment of its parent group core technology, ie, data collection, automatic identification, mobile communication and payment equipment, within the EMEA region.

"We are rapidly entering the age of digitalisation, and the move towards the 'Internet of things' (IOT) is also gaining momentum," commented Mauro Mercuri, CEO of Newland ID South Africa and Group Director of Tactile Technologies. "Both these organisations utilise key technologies associated with these trends within the solutions they provide to their relevant markets, and thus the establishment of a South African Newland operation as a sister company to the local Tactile Technologies operation is an opportunity that we didn't want to miss.

"This is an exciting time for our industry and we look forward to playing our part in it going forward. We have already been in business for many years, and in the process, built up significant experience and skill levels among our people. We are known for being well organised, and our products and support capabilities have helped to create a great reputation for us. We will leverage all of this to help introduce and grow Newland ID," concluded Mercuri.
