Symplexity implements DVT's Replicon to boost productivity

Symplexity, one of South Africa's leading HR and payroll systems providers, has implemented Replicon's Web Timesheet to boost management of its employees' time, and boost their productivity through goal setting.

The software was supplied by local distributor DVT.

"We had our own in-house product," says Ashvin Jivan, director at Symplexity, "but it was clumsy and not ideally organised. Capturing employees' data, vital for better client service and profitability, was a lengthy process and searching for data was difficult."

Symplexity's HR and payroll system offers simple solutions to complex business requirements. It enables organisations to achieve their critical success factors by ensuring the HR and payroll system meets business requirements without labour-intensive manual work or interventions.

Its clients include Gold Fields, FNB, Northam Platinum, Concor, Murray & Roberts and Buffalo City Municipality.

Replicon is a Web-based time and expense management software. Its flagship application, Web Timesheet, gives professional service organisations quantitative, real-time analysis of workforce productivity and a method of setting meaningful productivity goals for employees that are tied directly to bottom-line revenue.

"We realised the potential benefits Replicon could deliver at Symplexity by improving their staff's time management and productivity," says Trevor van Rensburg, director of DVT. "The current data capturing and productivity management system was slowing down processes, rather then enhancing them, making Symplexity a prime candidate for Replicon software."

Since the system went live on 1 February, setting productivity goals has resulted in increased output, enabling Symplexity to deal with complex requirements in a simple and intuitive way.

"The application is easy to use and is customised to specifically suit company requirements, allowing us to meet company goals efficiently, and thereby deliver better client service," says Jivan. "The approvals and e-mail notifications are an excellent reminder to consultants and project managers, along with its reporting module."

Replicon's flexible Web-based timesheet allows the company to collect information needed offline, ensuring tasks can be completed whenever consultants have time.

One of the main features of Replicon is the integration it achieves with project management, accounting, ERP, and payroll systems, which allows for advanced project tracking capability.

"It is often difficult for companies to effectively manage their projects and goals to better service their clients," says Van Rensburg, "which was very much the case at Symplexity. However, Replicon has rectified this."
