Start-up tackles managed services
A Singapore start-up called Value Advantage (VA) is looking to fill a void it says will help managed services providers (MSPs) in the region better address the small and medium enterprise (SME) market, reports ZDNet Asia.
VA describes itself as a master MSP (MMSP), a term that has been bandied about in the US for some time now, but is still little heard of in the Asia-Pacific region.
MMSPs host managed service offerings on a resale and indirect channel, and enable IT service providers and other MSPs to access and bundle managed services for their customers.
SMEs' approach is sophisticated
A survey by Irish-owned HiberniaEvros Technology found SMEs have an "increasingly sophisticated approach" to minimising expenditure, states Tech Central.
The study found the ability to focus on core business and cost savings are the primary reasons for IT outsourcing.
The results of the survey were released at the unveiling of an outsourcing service for SMEs, called OmniSource, in Ireland.
