Spescom Software Inc, the US operation of JSE-listed Spescom Limited, has announced that New Zealand-based Cadmus has purchased its eB product.
Cadmus is a major supplier of EFTPOS (electronic funds transfer at point Of sale) equipment. eB will be utilised for controlling and distributing information regarding the components used in the company's manufacturing processes.
Cadmus is a provider of secure payment solutions to the debit, credit and smart card markets. These solutions include payment terminals, back room host-based systems, terminal software and a range of industry-specific applications.
The company designs and develops its own software development toolkit (M-Builder), network interfaces and security modules, and also manufactures and finances its products into the market.
Cadmus is acknowledged as New Zealand's largest exporter of EFTPOS terminals. The company boasts branches throughout New Zealand and Australia, has a rapidly growing presence in Malaysia and Singapore, plus distributors in the United Arab Emirates and Northern Africa.
"This new contract is evidence that eB can meet the needs of a diversified range of organisations," says Keith Stentiford, Spescom Software's CEO.
"We are very pleased that Cadmus selected our eB application after a careful assessment of alternative vendors. From the outset Spescom eB will complement and extend their recently-chosen PDM system; allowing the creation of controlled assemblies and parts that will provide baselines and bills of materials for planning the company's production requirements. In time, eB is expected to extend to Cadmus' component suppliers and client contacts. We are also delighted that eB is reaching into the Asia Pacific region which is an endorsement of the international operations of Spescom Software."
