SITA is collaborating with Software AG to offer SMMEs software training.

The State IT Agency (SITA) has joined forces with Software AG to introduce a training programme that will cater to small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs).

Through the training programme, SITA and Software AG will offer 11 selected SMMEs an opportunity to develop software skills.

In a statement, SITA says the training programme will consist of modules in legacy modernisation, business process analysis and enterprise architecture, and integration and process automation.

Following the training, according to SITA, the SMMEs will be added to the agency's procurement list of suppliers for products and services applicable to the training provided.

"The skills learned can also be used for private sector procurement opportunities. Selected SMMEs will be required to sign enterprise development contracts with Software AG."

Interested SMMEs must submit a company profile, a B-BBEE certificate or affidavit, as well as tax-clearance certificate.

SITA adds that preference will be given to companies that focus on software development, design and testing.

The closing date for applications is 28 January, and applicants can send an e-mail to nomfuneko@enterpriseroom.com for further enquiries.

The programme will commence on 1 February.
