The Oracle accredited business unit of the Technology (Application and Implementation) Cluster of Simeka Business Group has changed its name. From 7 October 2008 it will be known as Red Edge Solutions. This comes after a spell of rapid and organic growth of the unit.
Simeka Business Group is listed on the JSE AltX exchange. Its year on year growth and dedication to transformation have put the company in the enviable position of being a leading black empowered outsourcing and business support services group with offices throughout South Africa, Africa, Middle-East and the UK. In line with its strategic objective of support services market leadership, the creation of Simeka harnessed a formidable array of skills and experience. Simeka is a strong people-led consulting and outsourcing business with strong technology enabled competence within niche vertical markets. "We are experiencing fast growth and as a result are diversifying our Oracle-based solutions. This growth has demanded that we take on our own identity and become known in the market place as a leading and focused Oracle partner. We are extending the capabilities of the whole Simeka Group to our clients and are endeavouring to entrench our value to the group and other subsidiaries with this move," says Managing Executive, Erik Marx.
As a unit within Simeka's Technology (Application and Implementation) Cluster, Red Edge has gained much experience in providing IT systems to facilitate crucial management functions such as financial management, human capital management, enterprise information management (including enterprise content management and business intelligence). This services portfolio also includes service orientated architecture (SOA), a flexible system that can be adapted to suit the needs of any business. SOA systems are used in a range of businesses, including financial modelling and electronic trading. "Simeka's Technology (Application and Implementation) Cluster is known for providing a complete package, and the rebranded entity, Red Edge, will stay true to the key tenets of the service model, which are to diagnose, design, implement, support and train. This provides a solid foundation for seamless organisational activity to support the delivery of tangible IT service to the business," adds Marx.
"Red Edge's contribution to Simeka has been increasingly significant over the last year and we feel that making it a uniquely identifiable entity in the consumer's mind will broaden its appeal and allow Simeka Group further market penetration which will enable sustainable growth," enthuses Mohammed Varachia, CEO Simeka Business Group.
